The Trust employs a full time secondary trained specialist PE teacher who coordinates all aspects of sport across the Trust.
At Millbrook we love to be in the outdoors! Every term, each year group participates in 'Outdoor and Adventurous learning' under the expert tuition and guidance of the infamous 'Outdoor Dave and Jungle James.' The children develop many skills including physical skills such as balance, agility and coordination whilst learning about our school values of Friendship, Courage and Creativity in action. It also offers the children to be spiritual.
Psalm 23:2-3 “He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul.
Children develop their skills across a range of individual and team sports during their PE lessons including swimming.
We love sport! Throughout the year, there are a variety of clubs such as netball, x-country, football, basketball, tag-rugby, dodge-ball, dance and athletics for the children to develop and improve their skills in competitive and non-competitive situations. The aim is to encourage as many children as possible to enjoy being physically active.
All pupils are encouraged to take part in sporting competitions. Each half term the Trust runs a sporting tournament for teams of KS1 & KS2 pupils from each of our schools. Children also take part in a Cross Country Series of races in the Autumn and Spring Term and a Grass Track Cycling Series in the summer.
The Trust runs a number of visits to see elite sport each year. Pupils watch matches and tournaments and are able to meet and talk to elite athletes.
